I took off Friday last week - just wasn’t feeling up to going in. I had a massive headache and feet was sore from the concert. I took off yesterday (Monday) because it was our 2 year anniversary and I had an extra day off from my boss. (Long story) Basically, I love 4 day weekends!
Sitting at Starbucks with a delicious latte and a good book. This needs to happen more often - I always say I need to read more and what better way than to sit outside on the patio on a beautiful fall day?
Cuddling with Waffle, sleeping with Waffle, catching up on the weekly TV shows with Waffle, watching Waffle eat 10 times a day.
Playing with my new MacBook Pro and discovering the amazingness that is Apple products
Long, giggly walks with my BF around High Park / Bloor West Village / Roncesvalle - checking out the beautiful million $ houses and wishing that I owned one. One day..maybe
Misfits - watching the entire two seasons and absolutely LOVING it. Once again, thanks AMY
Starting a new show called SUITS, as my best friend recommended and again, LOVING it. I think I’ve become a TV-addict. (well, actually.. icefilms.info addict)
Went to go see 50/50 in theatres. I love Joseph Gordan-Levitt and I am NOT a fan of Seth Rogan (he cannot diversify his acting). Pretty good movie and well worth the 2,000 scene points. Thanks ScotiaBank!
Watched the first episode of Once Upon a Time - what a great Pilot episode! I’m hooked already.
Making some delicious food - Caprese salad (makes me miss Italy), Sausage & Kale Soup (perfect for the Fall!), homemade pizza with chirizo sausage, olives, mushrooms and red peppers & yummy breakfasts! (french toast & mushroom-cheese-redpep omlette)
And it’s beautiful. Although… being a past PC/Windows user for the last 13 years of my life, I really don’t understand the mac at all and couldn’t even change the background for the life of me. Pathetic, I know. Even as I’m typing this, I’m using my work PC, LOL.
I don’t know whether or not I’m unhappy with being sick or happy that I get to stay home and play with my new toy!
Also - not only do I feel stuffy and under the weather, my feet/knees are in soooooo sore thanks to my hot evil heels. I seriously can’t believe the stupidity that led me to wear those things, never again. I will only wear them on days that I don’t walk or stand excessively. UGH!
This week has been full of NEW - new and beautiful cat, new and beautiful macbook. What a wonderful week despite the sickness, the soreness and the lack of sunshine.
He’s basically a dog but a little more independent. He likes his belly rubbed, likes to always be around, follows you around most of the times, wants to ALWAYS be petted and basically comes when you call him. (most of the time..) I’ve fallen in love and it’s only been 2 days. Uh oh.
HI Random, I love your blog and read it every day. Sometimes I like to lay in my bed with Johnny ( that's the name I gave to my toy) and play with myself as I read your daily updates. I sometimes watch you work from my car but am always too afraid to see you face to face. Maybe someday...?
Is this normal ? I definitely didn’t write this to myself… spam?
I’ve succumbed to the dark side, I’ve purchased a Macbook Pro! I always thought it was so ridiculous that a laptop could be $1200 especially since you can get a PC for $400 these days. However, after going through 1 Acer laptop and going through major issues with 1 HP laptop, I’ve decided to finally get the amazing mac that everybody always talks about!
The good thing? My bf will be paying for half of it - I know I should be budgeting but I really can’t live without having a computer and I can’t use my work laptop anymore… That’s what visas are for right? :P
Look at how beautiful it is! Hopefully it will last longer than the 3-4 life expectancy of a PC laptop… For $1200+, it better!
I had a very good weekend - shopping on Saturday and lots of cooking & relaxing on Sunday. The best kind of weekends!
My bf & i went across to Buffalo and did some shopping at Walden Galleria which is probably one of my favourite malls. It’s also tough shopping in Canada b/c everything is always more expensive and taxes are high so whenever I’m in the mood, I almost always go across to Buffalo.
Some items I’m super excited about:
forever 21 purple shirt. very cute with leggings
an anniversary gift for my bf (2 years next week!) - timbaland boots
OPI nail polishes - white shatter, sky blue, purple and top coat.
awesome kitchen stuff from macy’s
tons of bath & body works candles and handwash
pair of grey heel boots for me (and i NEVER wear heels so i’m pumped!
I didn’t get as much stuff as I wanted to but I’m also trying very hard to be on a budget considering I still haven’t recovered from a month in Europe financially. I think I’ll head back to the States in November for some cheap Xmas shopping! :)
Today, I made the most delicious fresh pasta courtesy of this recipe … i changed one thing and added some chicken and it was yummy! I’d probably put in alot less lemon juice in it and a bit more basil but overall, it was soooo good. I’m excited that I get to have it for lunch tomorrow!
I’m also trying to cook food in big batches so I don’t have the opportunity to get lazy and eat out/buy lunches so I also made soup in the slow cooker with beef, cabbage (my new addiction, hey at least it’s healthy!), carrots, celery, onion and potatoes - I then put in a can of diced tomatoes and a carton of beef broth… Mmmm… can’t wait until it’s done. Too bad it takes 8 hours, I guess I will be eating dinner in about 4 hours…
I hope everybody is having a wonderful, relaxing Sunday! :)
I’m totally not cut out to be a mom. It’s so hard handling two kids that think they can lie to you b/c you’re not their mom but yet not being able to call them out on it in fear of them breaking down and crying. It’s a tough job people…
On top of that, they lied to me and told me to pull into this “parking lot” to drop them off at daycare and it was actually a playground so I got in shit with the teacher. GREAT start to the morning. BLAH.
I vow to never wake up at 6am again after tomorrow!
I’m currently babysitting my coworkers’ 2 kids - both of which have ADHD and OCD. I have to take them to school, make them dinner, keep them entertained for the evening and basically act like mom for 2 whole days while she’s in Cuba! I’m not complaining - just a bit scared that I won’t be able to handle it. Ive babysat when I was in high school but never had responsibilities like this! I hope I can do this and not mess it up - it’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. I have planned a fun arts and crafts day tomorrow after they finish homework - I hope they don’t have any breakdowns.
The plus side of all this? Kids go to bed at 9pm so I get to catch up on gossip girl and new girl… Woo!
